The report was formally presented in Abuja by the committee’s chairman, Jake Epelle, to JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede.

According to Epelle, the committee uncovered 4,251 cases of “finger blending” and 192 instances of AI-assisted impersonation through image morphing during its probe into the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Beyond these, the panel also documented 1,878 false disability claims, forged credentials, multiple national identification number (NIN) registrations, and collusion between candidates and examination syndicates.

The committee, which was inaugurated on August 18, was tasked with investigating the rising trend of examination malpractice, assessing JAMB’s systems, and recommending reforms.

Epelle expressed concern that exam malpractice has become highly organised, technology-driven, and dangerously normalised. He further noted that parents, tutorial centres, schools, and even some CBT operators were complicit in the fraud, while weak legal frameworks made enforcement difficult.

To combat the menace, the committee recommended a multi-pronged response, including the deployment of AI-powered biometric anomaly detection tools, real-time monitoring, and the establishment of a central Examination Security Operations Centre.
