The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the death of his mother, who was allegedly attacked on suspicion of witchcraft.

The incident occurred on August 26, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., when the suspect, identified as Jibrin Ado of Daneji village, reportedly conspired with others — Musa Kwalle, Dan Abba, Sule Musa, and one Arrow, all of Gerawa Village — and stormed the home of his father, Adamu Saleh.

The assailants allegedly beat Saleh’s wife, 50-year-old Magajiya Ado, with heavy sticks until she lost consciousness, accusing her of practicing witchcraft.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the victim was rushed to General Hospital, Ringim, where she later died while receiving treatment.

Her body has since been released to the family for burial.

Police confirmed that Jibrin Ado has been arrested, while his accomplices remain at large.
