Senate President Godswill Akpabio has returned to Nigeria following a brief vacation in London, putting to rest widespread rumors about his health.
Akpabio arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at around 4 a.m. on Monday, August 18, where he was warmly welcomed at the Presidential Wing by fellow senators, aides, and supporters from various sectors.
His return follows his participation in the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament held in Geneva from July 29 to 31.
Addressing journalists upon arrival, Senator Akpabio dismissed reports that he had been critically ill or hospitalized during his time in London.
“There was never a cause for alarm,” he stated, stressing that his visit abroad was purely for rest and official engagements.
