Students were evacuated from Arena Academy in Birmingham on Thursday morning following a reported bomb threat, prompting a swift police response and the activation of emergency procedures.

West Midlands Police confirmed that officers were dispatched to the school in the Great Barr area after receiving reports of a threat sent via email. Although authorities later stated there was no evidence of a credible danger to students or staff, officers remained on-site as a precaution.

Parents were notified shortly after the evacuation began. A message, reportedly shared by nearby Priestley Smith School, stated: “We have received a message from Priestley Smith School this morning informing us there has been a bomb threat. We are not sure if this is a credible threat but we’re following our protocols and currently evacuating to Turnbury Park. Police are also supporting us. We will keep you fully informed.”

Following the evacuation, the school confirmed that students would not be returning for the rest of the day. Police continued to search the premises as part of ongoing safety checks.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about the threat’s origin or content but confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
