A 34-year-old Nigerian woman has been arrested by Versova Police in Mumbai, India, after being found in possession of cocaine valued at over ₦254 million.
The suspect, identified as Yenna Christina Idowu, was apprehended by officers of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) at around 3 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, in the Old MHADA area of Andheri West. Officers had reportedly observed her behaving suspiciously and decided to conduct a search.
With a female officer present, the police searched her bag and discovered 30 capsules containing a total of 418 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of Rs 1.42 crore.
During interrogation, Idowu disclosed that she is originally from Ondo State, Nigeria, but currently resides in Noida, New Delhi.
Authorities have launched a full investigation to uncover the broader drug network, including the source of the cocaine and the intended recipient.
She has been charged under multiple sections of India’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The suspect remains in police custody as further legal proceedings continue.
