In a major political development that underscores growing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Nigeria’s southeastern region, the Imo State House of Assembly has unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the President and formally endorsed his re-election bid for 2027.
The decision came during the State of the State Address delivered by Governor Hope Uzodimma at the State Assembly Complex. The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, moved the motion, praising President Tinubu for his achievements—particularly in Imo State and across the South East.
Iwuanyanwu highlighted the administration’s strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development, stating that President Tinubu’s policies have significantly impacted the region. According to him, the President’s investments in the South East demonstrate a genuine commitment to national unity and addressing long-standing regional disparities.
The motion also included a vote of confidence in Governor Hope Uzodimma. The Deputy Speaker commended Uzodimma’s transformative leadership, especially in infrastructure renewal, pointing to ambitious road construction projects that have enhanced connectivity and spurred local economic growth. He further emphasized the administration’s human capital development programs, calling them the most impactful since 1999.
Iwuanyanwu extended appreciation to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a resilient and inclusive political party. He praised the APC for its dedication to delivering on promises, maintaining democratic ideals, and providing a platform for diverse political voices. As the largest political party in Africa, the APC’s organizational strength and grassroots reach remain critical to driving progress nationwide.
The unanimous votes of confidence for President Tinubu, Governor Uzodimma, and the APC symbolize more than political alignment—they reflect a collective endorsement of leadership, stability, and a shared vision for Nigeria’s continued development.
