Human rights lawyer Festus Ogun, a Lagos resident, has announced plans to file a lawsuit against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for blocking him on X (formerly Twitter) for the past three years.
In a post shared on his X handle, Ogun stated that he would approach the courts in July to seek redress, arguing that the governor’s action constitutes a violation of his constitutional right to freedom of speech. He described the practice of public officials blocking citizens on social media as an affront to democratic principles.
