The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has approved an extension of the grace period for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit until August 12, 2025.

In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing.

Adejobi emphasized that the decision followed public outcry and constructive feedback from Nigerians who called for an extension. “These voices have been instrumental in guiding ongoing reviews of the process to ensure it remains user-friendly, secure, and accessible to all,” he said.

He added that the extended grace period will allow the Police to implement further improvements to the application process, ensuring that no citizen is unfairly disadvantaged.

“The NPF is actively working to simplify and enhance both the physical and online application options, including improved verification systems and streamlined procedures to minimize delays and eliminate unnecessary inconveniences,” Adejobi noted.

He reminded the public that the authorized platform for the application and renewal of the Tinted Glass Permit is available at: www.possap.gov.ng.

Citizens are also encouraged to report any unauthorized or hidden charges, as well as incidents of extortion during the application or biometric capture process, through the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.

Adejobi reiterated the Police Force’s dedication to public safety, digital innovation, and continuous service improvement, while appreciating the patience and cooperation of Nigerians during the ongoing reforms.
