The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 39-year-old fugitive, Kabiru Oyedun, who was one of the escapees from the Ilesa Correctional Centre in Osun State.
Sources informed security analyst Zagazola Makama that the suspect was captured on May 21 at approximately 5:35 p.m. in the Oshin-Welder area of Ayobo, a suburb of Lagos.
According to a police source from the Lagos Zone 2 Police Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, the arrest was made based on information provided by members of the public who spotted the suspect and promptly informed the police.
“A team of police detectives was quickly dispatched to the area and successfully apprehended the suspect without any complications,” the source stated.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that the Lagos State Comptroller of Corrections has been notified and is expected to take custody of the fugitive for subsequent transfer to the Osun State Correctional Service for further legal proceedings.
