Lamine Yamal is reportedly set to inherit Lionel Messi’s iconic No. 10 shirt at Barcelona after signing a new contract with the club this summer.

At just 17 years old, Yamal has emerged as a serious Ballon d’Or contender this season. He won the Euros with Spain last year and played a key role in helping Barcelona secure the La Liga title this season. According to Memorabilia1899.co, Yamal will celebrate his 18th birthday in July by signing a new long-term contract with Barcelona, which will include a staggering €1 billion (£841 million) release clause.

The new deal will also see Yamal take over the No. 10 jersey, currently worn by Ansu Fati. Fati’s future at Barcelona remains uncertain, and he is expected to relinquish the famous shirt to Yamal.

Currently, Yamal wears the No. 19 jersey — the same number Lionel Messi wore early in his career at La Masia before switching to No. 10 in 2008.

This jersey change marks another historic milestone in Yamal’s young career. He made his Barcelona debut two years ago at just 15 years old.

Since then, Yamal has won La Liga twice and contributed 43 goals and assists in 54 games, playing a crucial role in Barcelona’s domestic treble this season.
