The medical doctor, Ajefolakemi John of Iloromu Quarters, Ile-Ife, assigned the job to the suspect on April 15, 2025. However, he later discovered that the driver had absconded with the equipment. Efforts to contact the suspect proved futile as he remained unreachable.

Following this, the Zonal Anti-Crime Unit was directed to conduct a discreet investigation aimed at apprehending the suspect.
The investigation team traced the suspect to Adoka Community in Benue State and successfully arrested him in his hideout at Ugbokpo Community.
Recovered from the suspect were several pieces of medical equipment, including a Mindray SV 300 laptop ventilator XI; Mindray 3-part hematology analyzer XI; two Mindray patient monitors; two patient monitor trolleys; a Zoncare 12-lead ECG XI; and a Mindray DP 10 laptop ultrasound XI.
