Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has once again criticized his generation for idolizing wealth obtained through questionable means.
The artist, who refers to himself as “Jesus Boy,” shared a video on social media featuring a clergyman rebuking the tendency among some churches to celebrate wealthy individuals — including politicians — regardless of how their wealth was acquired.
In the video, the cleric stated:
“This version of Christianity, where any politician who visits is handed a microphone on the pulpit, is not supported by the Bible. My generation now glorifies people who are not living godly lives. Just because someone appears successful, we automatically attribute their results to God and overlook their immoral behavior — as if that’s the way of God.”
Reacting to the video, Spyro expressed agreement, posting:
“Too profound. My generation steadily calls God’s name on what was achieved in SIN… HMM.”
Spyro has been vocal about his Christian values and continues to challenge societal norms that he believes contradict his faith.
