The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered two warehouses on Sam Mbakwe Road (formerly Faulk’s Road), Aba, filled with expired drugs.
According to a statement from the agency, during the raid, it was found that some cartons of expired drugs had been removed and relabeled before security reinforcements arrived.
From the warehouse located in Umumeje, Umuocheala, Osisioma LGA, NAFDAC evacuated 140 tonnes of expired drugs, in addition to products seized from drug shops at Ariaria International Market.
A total of 178 drug samples were collected during the operation and will undergo laboratory analysis.4o mini
