Iran has rejected any involvement in the drone strike that resulted in the deaths of three US military personnel in Jordan.
The country denies links to the attack and emphasizes that it does not seek an expansion of conflict in the Middle East.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanani, dismissed the accusations as “baseless” and part of a conspiracy. He stated that the Islamic Republic does not welcome an escalation of conflict in the region and clarified that Iran is not involved in the decisions of what it terms “resistance groups.” The strike on the frontier base in Jordan’s northeast, near the borders with Iraq and Syria, has escalated tensions in the region.
