A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Daniel Bwala, stated on Tuesday that opposition political parties are poised to form a robust coalition to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bwala emphasized that, without a coalition of opposition parties, President Bola Tinubu would likely serve eight years in office as Nigeria’s President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
“Without a coalition of political parties, Tinubu is going to spend the next eight years. That one is for sure,” Bwala commented. He confidently asserted that a formidable coalition of political parties would emerge, absorbing elements causing issues within various political parties.
Accusing Tinubu of instigating crises in opposition parties, Bwala cited incidents in the Labour Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) as examples during the program.
Bwala also weighed in on the political turmoil in oil-rich Rivers State, involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. He predicted that Governor Fubara would be removed from office, stating that Fubara had unknowingly stepped into a trap. While not specifying who set the trap, Bwala called for prayers for the governor and remarked that only time would reveal the unfolding situation.
