The Israeli Air Force reported that it targeted 600 locations in Gaza, including weapons storage facilities, hideouts, gatherings of Hamas operatives, and anti-tank positions, all within a 24-hour period. In one instance, a fighter jet struck a building with more than 20 Hamas members inside. Another fighter jet targeted an anti-tank missile launching site near Al-Azhar University. Israel also conducted strikes in Syria and Lebanon, in response to attacks originating from those countries.
The Israel Defense Forces reported that during clashes in Gaza, they killed dozens of terrorists who had taken cover in buildings and tunnels while attempting to attack Israeli troops. Heavy fighting was also reported in northwest Gaza by Hamas.
Save the Children stated that the number of children killed in Gaza over three weeks exceeded the annual number of children killed in conflict zones worldwide since 2019, with over 3,000 children killed in the Israeli-Gaza conflict.
The Israeli military issued an urgent call to Palestinian civilians in Gaza, requesting they temporarily relocate southward for their personal safety. Chief spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari emphasized the urgency of this call. Additionally, it was reported that 239 people were confirmed as being held hostage in Gaza since Hamas’ cross-border attack on October 7. Israeli ground forces also reported killing several Hamas militants as they exited a tunnel near the Erez crossing, which was the sole pedestrian passageway from Gaza into Israel before it was destroyed in the recent conflict.
