On Saturday, the United States unequivocally condemned the attacks carried out by members of Hamas against Israel. The U.S. pledged its commitment to providing support to its key ally, ensuring that Israel has the necessary means to defend itself.
President Joe Biden received a briefing on the recent Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel, as announced by the White House in a statement. The President remains in close contact with Israeli partners as the situation continues to evolve.
Earlier on Saturday, the Palestinian militant group Hamas initiated a multi-pronged attack, utilizing air, sea, and land forces against Israel.

“The United States unequivocally condemns the unprovoked attacks,” National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said in a statement, adding that “there is never any justification for terrorism.”
Israel declared that it was in a state of conflict with Hamas after a sudden early morning assault originating from the blockaded Gaza Strip.
“We express our steadfast support for the Government and citizens of Israel and offer our heartfelt condolences for the loss of Israeli lives in these attacks,” stated Watson.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin reiterated the United States’ resolute dedication to enabling Israel to assert its right to self-defense.
“In the days ahead, the Department of Defense will collaborate to ensure that Israel has the necessary resources to safeguard itself and shield civilians from indiscriminate violence and acts of terrorism,” Austin affirmed.
Since its foundation, Israel has received lavish US military aid — more than $125 billion, according to a US State Department report from 2021.

“The report highlighted that this has contributed to the development of one of the world’s most capable and effective militaries, as well as transforming the Israeli military industry and technology sector into one of the largest exporters of military capabilities globally.”
“US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan also communicated with Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi on Saturday, and the White House statement indicates that they will maintain ongoing communication.”
“Prior to the events on Saturday, President Biden had been aiming to bring about a transformation in the Middle East, seeking to achieve a pre-election diplomatic victory by securing recognition of the State of Israel from Saudi Arabia, the guardian of Islam’s two holiest sites.”
