President Bola Tinubu has submitted a letter to the Senate, formally requesting their confirmation of three additional ministerial nominees.
During today’s plenary session on October 3, Senate President Godswill Akpabio read President Tinubu’s letter, which sought the Senate’s approval for the nominees.
The nominees in question are Balarabe Abbas Lawal from Kaduna State, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State, and Mr. Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.
Back in August 2023, the Senate successfully screened and confirmed 45 ministerial nominees, although they rejected three candidates. One of the notable rejections was former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The other two nominees who faced rejection at that time were Stella Okotete from Delta State and Abubakar Danladi from Taraba State. During the screening process, a lawmaker expressed concerns regarding a “serious petition” against El-Rufai.
