Kanye West has claimed that rapper Cardi B was strategically introduced to the music industry by certain disgruntled executives with the intention of supplanting the “Queen of rap,” Nicki Minaj.
In recently leaked footage from an unreleased 2018 documentary, Kanye, while expressing doubts about Cardi B’s talent, alleged that she does not write her own lyrics.
The footage surfaced on Sunday, October 1st. In one video, the renowned artist from Chicago is seen sitting on a couch, flipping through a magazine, and discussing Corey Gamble’s alleged involvement with the CIA. He also made the assertion that Cardi B is an “industry plant” who assumed Nicki Minaj’s position.
Kanye stated, “Cardi B is a pawn of the Illuminati.”
He went on to say, “She doesn’t compose her own rhymes. Her role is to appear as uninformed as possible and create songs like ‘fuck them and get some money.’ She has effectively taken over Nicki Minaj’s position, intentionally placed there by others, and now she’s lost and clueless about what’s happening. She believes it’s merely a stroke of luck from the universe. It’s not a blessing from the universe.”
Cardi B did not take Kanye’s remarks too seriously. She responded by sharing a 2022 interview in which Kanye expressed his admiration for her and his long-standing belief in her.
“I’ve always believed in her since she was on the show,” Kanye West stated in the video shared by Cardi B.
Cardi appended a heart emoji to the video without directly addressing the other video in which Kanye criticized her.
