Just In: Tinubu Appoints Two New Ministers

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of two new ministers to lead the Ministry of Youth: Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim and Mr. Ayodele Olawande.

In a statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, it has been announced that Ibrahim will assume the role of Minister of Youth, while Olawande is set to take on the position of Minister of State for Youth.

The presidential spokesperson has conveyed that these appointments are contingent upon confirmation by the Senate.

“The President has additionally endorsed the selection of Mr. Ayodele Olawande for the role of Minister of State for Youth, pending the Senate’s confirmation within the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

“Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, a dynamic young medical doctor, most recently held the position of President at the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF). Additionally, she has served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mr. Ayodele Olawande, an esteemed community development expert and a prominent youth leader within the All Progressives Congress (APC), served as part of the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023.

In a statement, President Tinubu has tasked the aforementioned nominees with upholding the spirit of innovation, unwavering dedication, and the dynamic energy emblematic of Nigeria’s young populace as they fulfill their roles.

With these new appointments, the Tinubu cabinet now comprises 47 ministers.”
