The Kaduna State government has taken steps to alleviate the impact of the increased cost of living following the removal of fuel subsidies by reducing tuition fees for state-owned tertiary institutions.
The government has implemented a tuition fee reduction ranging from 30 to 50 percent for students enrolled at Kaduna State University, Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, and Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya.
Governor Uba Sani made the announcement regarding the reduction of tuition fees during a press conference held on Monday, August 21. He stated that this decision was made in response to the widespread concerns regarding the high fees charged by tertiary institutions within the state.
Addressing the issue, Governor Uba Sani stated, “In light of the public outcry over the current tuition fees levied by tertiary institutions in Kaduna State and recognizing its adverse impact on student enrollment and retention, I have approved a revision of the fee structure as follows:

Governor Uba Sani emphasized that this downward adjustment in tuition fees reflects the state government’s commitment to providing relief to counteract the effects of the overall rising cost of living, particularly in light of the recent removal of petroleum subsidies in Nigeria.
