Former TV presenter and ex-friend of Meghan Markle, Lizzie Cundy, recently made claims in an interview with The Mirror on August 2, stating that she believes Markle may have manipulated Prince Harry into thinking that David and Victoria Beckham were leaking stories about them to the press. Cundy expressed her concern, stating, “At this rate, they’ll have no friends at all!”
Cundy recounted an incident in 2013 when she and Markle attended the Global Gift Gala together, and Markle got visibly starstruck upon meeting Victoria Beckham. According to Cundy, Markle “squealed” with excitement upon seeing the former Spice Girls star and was thrilled to meet her. Cundy recalls advising Markle to “calm down and be cool” during the red carpet event.
Despite this, Markle and Victoria eventually became friends, along with their husbands, David Beckham and Prince Harry. They even attended Markle and Harry’s wedding in 2018. However, Cundy claimed that she was “ghosted” by Markle once Harry came into the picture.
Now, there are reports of a fallout between the two power couples, with Markle and Harry allegedly accusing the Beckhams of leaking stories to the press. A source told The Daily Mail that David Beckham is furious about these accusations, and the likelihood of a reconciliation seems slim.
Cundy defended Victoria Beckham, stating that she believes Victoria doesn’t need to leak stories and that she is not the type to engage in such behavior. Cundy also claimed that many friends who attended the royal wedding have slowly distanced themselves from Meghan, including the Beckhams, who are known to be family-oriented individuals and wouldn’t resort to leaking stories.
