Reno Omokri has made a trending post which has caused debate on social media.
From his words; he said his readings of the Bible has revealed that bride price should not be paid to ladies who are not virgins as of the time they are being married.
He also quoted Exodus 22:16-17 to prove his point:
16 “If a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged to be married and sleeps with her, he must pay the bride-price, and she shall be his wife. 17 If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, he must still pay the bride-price for virgins.
I know my point will shock people. Scripturally, Bride Price is ONLY paid for virgins. Don’t argue with me. Argue with God. See Exodus 22:16-17. By virtue of Scripture (and also in traditional African society), you pay no Bride Price for non-virgins
