Singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Peter of P-Square, has responded to critics who questioned his decision to change his birthday while still retaining the P-Square name on his social media platforms.

An X user had suggested that he drop the “P-Square” moniker if he truly intended to distance himself from his brother and former music partner, Paul Okoye.

Reacting via his X handle, Peter stated that he has every right to keep the name, adding that he was part of the act and contributed to building it.

He also revisited past issues within the family, alleging betrayal by some of his siblings. He, however, dismissed claims that any of his brothers’ wives influenced them to “steal” from him, insisting that none of them were married at the time the alleged issues began.

Peter and his elder brother, Jude Okoye, are currently involved in a legal dispute over alleged diversion of funds. Peter has accused Jude of using a separate company to divert earnings generated during his time as PSquare’s manager.
