A groom has been arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his friend during his bachelor party in Oklahoma, United States.

According to a press release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and court documents, officers were called to a residential area at about 1 a.m. on April 4, 2026, following reports of a suspicious death.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound and made contact with 22-year-old Nolan Dain Engel, who identified himself as the shooter.

Investigators said Engel told them he and three friends were celebrating his bachelor party at an Airbnb when they heard a knocking noise outside and saw a shadow.

Engel reportedly said he fired a shot toward the shadow with a 9mm handgun before stepping outside to investigate. He later found his friend, 21-year-old Braden Uhlmann, with a gunshot wound.

Uhlmann was taken to the hospital shortly after emergency responders arrived but later died from his injuries.

Police said evidence gathered at the scene supports Engel’s account of events.

He has since been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
