Bandits have k!lled one person and abducted seven others in Sabon Gyero community, Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 16, 2026. According to reports, the attackers invaded the community and went straight to a residence, abducting three women and four children.
The bandits also attacked a local phone-charging centre, where they shot and k!lled a young man identified as Abdullahi Lawal, popularly known as “Kurma.” Several mobile phones and laptops were reportedly stolen during the attack.
Kurma, who was deaf and mute, was shot in the head. He was rushed to a hospital but d!ed before reaching the medical facility.
The Commandant of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the area, Uwaisu Yunusa, confirmed the attack while speaking to journalists. “Members of the task force responded after hearing gunshots and attempted to pursue the attackers but were unable to catch up with them,” he said.
It was gathered that one of the kidnapped women was later released by the abductors due to health complications.
