Troops of Operation Safe Haven have arrested a suspected terrorist ammunition courier and recovered 100 rounds of ammunition during a sting operation in the Kuka area of Plateau State.
The arrest was made at about 1:00 p.m. on March 15, 2026, by troops operating under Sector 9, Sub-Sector 91, following an intelligence-led operation.
According to sources, the suspect was apprehended while in possession of 100 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, believed to be intended for a terrorist group operating in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State and neighbouring states.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is allegedly a member of the terrorist group.
He was also found to have a gunshot wound, believed to have been sustained during an attack in Benue State in 2024.
The suspect and the recovered ammunition are currently in custody as investigations continue.
