One Dead After Fight at Gombe Wedding

One person has died while others were injured following a violent clash at a wedding ceremony in Tulmi, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.

The incident was disclosed in a post on X on Tuesday, February 3, by security analyst Zangozola Makama.

According to Makama, the clash occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, during a wedding send-off party organised by Godiya Mai Rai.

“A group of men from Garin Ardo Usman village, including Wada Hussaini, Ganji Alhaji Idi, Yaya Hussaini, Mohammed Maikudi, Bello Alhaji Idi, and one Tijjani, reportedly clashed with Abubakar Usman, 35, and Bello Adamu, 19,” Makama wrote.

The confrontation reportedly left Abubakar Usman dead, while Bello Adamu and Wada Hussaini sustained injuries.

The injured victims were taken to Cottage Hospital, Tulmi, for medical treatment, while the corpse of Abubakar Usman was deposited at the hospital’s mortuary.

Police authorities said the suspects fled the scene after the incident and that efforts are ongoing to apprehend them. An investigation into the clash has also commenced.
