Nigerian music star Davido has publicly expressed gratitude to his father, Adedeji Adeleke, for standing by him amid the ongoing paternity controversy involving an Ibadan-based woman, Ayo Labinjoh.
The controversy resurfaced last week after Ayo Labinjoh’s teenage daughter, Aanu Adeleke, released an open letter addressed to the singer, calling for a DNA test to confirm her paternity. Ayo has claimed that she had a sexual relationship with Davido in 2012 and later gave birth to Aanu in November 2013, insisting that the singer is the child’s biological father.
Davido has consistently denied the allegation, stating that multiple DNA tests have already been conducted to disprove the claim. According to him, five separate tests confirmed that he is not Aanu’s father.
On Wednesday, January 21, Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke, addressed the matter during a press conference where he publicly defended his son. The billionaire businessman disclosed that DNA tests were carried out on both Davido and his cousin, fellow singer B-Red, and that all the results returned negative.
Following his father’s public intervention, Davido took to his Instagram story on Thursday to show appreciation for the support. Sharing a photo of himself with his father, the award-winning singer simply wrote:
