An operation reportedly codenamed Operation Absolute Resolve has been described as a large-scale military mission that allegedly resulted in the apprehension of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

According to accounts circulating in international media, the operation involved months of covert planning and the deployment of more than 150 aircraft. Details of the mission were said to have been outlined during a press briefing by General Dan Caine, described as the highest-ranking military officer, on Saturday, December 3, 2026.

The mission was reportedly supported by extensive intelligence gathering carried out by multiple U.S. agencies, including the CIA, NSA, and NCA. These agencies were said to have monitored President Maduro’s movements and routines over several months in order to identify a narrow window for the operation while limiting civilian risk.

Reports claim that by early December, U.S. forces were in position and awaiting favorable weather conditions. Final authorization to proceed was allegedly given late on Friday evening by President Donald Trump.

According to the accounts, the extraction team approached Caracas using low-flying helicopters designed to avoid radar detection. At the same time, additional air assets were reportedly deployed to neutralize Venezuela’s air defense capabilities and secure air superiority.

The apprehension team is said to have entered the presidential compound shortly after 1:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, using real-time intelligence to navigate the premises. Both President Maduro and his wife were reportedly taken into custody during the operation.

As the team withdrew, reports claim there were brief defensive engagements, with aerial support provided to ensure a safe exit. By approximately 3:30 a.m. EST, the force was said to have exited Venezuelan airspace.

Maduro and Flores were reportedly transported to the USS Iwo Jima, an amphibious assault ship stationed offshore. Former President Trump later claimed the mission was successful, stating that it was completed without American casualties or equipment losses.

The claims surrounding the operation have not been independently verified, and no official confirmation has been issued by Venezuelan authorities.
