Activist Joe Igbokwe has slammed Igbo people who suggested that Lagos became “empty and dry” because many travelled to the East for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
In an open letter to Ndigbos, Igbokwe described such claims as “absurd, petty, senseless, and at best a shame,” calling them a display of ignorance and arrogance.
According to Igbokwe, Igbos in Lagos have often been too loud and boastful, unnecessarily provoking other Nigerians. He contrasted this with other wealthy Nigerians, such as Aliko Dangote and prominent figures from the North and South West, who do not display similar behavior.
