The Nigerian Army has confirmed that a Boko Haram suicide bomber was responsible for the explosion at a mosque in Borno State on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
The blast occurred at the Al-Adum Juma’at Mosque in the Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council during the evening Maghrib prayer, leaving multiple casualties.
Providing an update on Thursday, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, spokesman for the Theatre Command, Operation Hadin Kai, said preliminary investigations indicate that the attack was carried out by a suspected Boko Haram member.
