Arise TV anchor Reuben Abati has criticized FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, describing him as the “Omo Onile of the FCT” and as “APC’s political bouncer.”
Speaking on Arise TV this morning, November 14, Abati questioned Wike’s claims of respecting the rule of law, noting that he selectively obeys court orders and resorts to self-help during demolitions, despite multiple judgments regarding the Abuja Master Plan.
Abati highlighted that several top military and security officials—including the Chief of Defence Staff, Defence Ministers, and the Inspector General of Police—have condemned Wike over his recent confrontation with a naval officer, Lt. A.M. Yerima, concerning a disputed parcel of land in the FCT.
He further criticized Wike’s confrontations with journalists, clashes with the military, and overbearing conduct, saying they have placed the Presidency in a difficult position.
Abati urged President Bola Tinubu to caution Wike, emphasizing that no public officer is above the law and that all government appointees must conduct themselves with proper decorum.
