Former President Donald Trump has issued a powerful warning to Hamas, declaring that the group will face “complete obliteration” if it refuses to relinquish control of Gaza.

This statement comes as diplomatic efforts continue to seek a peaceful resolution to nearly two years of ongoing violence in the region. Trump recently unveiled a comprehensive 20-point peace plan, which calls for the immediate release of hostages but also includes a continued presence of Israeli troops in Gaza.

During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Trump was asked what would happen if Hamas refused to step down. His blunt response: “Complete Obliteration!”

Tapper also raised concerns about Hamas’ reaction to the ceasefire proposal, referencing Senator Lindsey Graham’s claim that Hamas rejected the plan by insisting on no disarmament, maintaining control over Gaza, and tying hostage releases to negotiations. Trump responded cautiously, saying, “We will find out. Only time will tell!!!”

The former president expressed hope for clarity soon on whether Hamas is genuinely committed to peace. He emphasized that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is fully supportive of ending the bombing campaign and backing Trump’s broader vision for peace.

Trump remains optimistic that his ceasefire plan will come to fruition, highlighting that he is working tirelessly toward that goal. In a recent update, he announced that Israel agreed to the initial withdrawal step outlined in his plan. According to Trump, once Hamas agrees, a ceasefire will be “immediately effective,” and hostage and prisoner exchanges will commence.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote:
“After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas. When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE. Thank you for your attention to this matter and, STAY TUNED!”

Just days prior, Trump declared that Hamas was “ready for a lasting PEACE” and called on Israel to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza.” However, the violence continued with Israeli airstrikes killing at least 20 people shortly afterward. Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported that within 24 hours on Saturday, 66 people were killed and 250 injured.

The situation remains volatile as both sides navigate the difficult path toward peace.
