Family and friends of a Nigerian woman, Mirian Chinonso Sunday, have been thrown into mourning after she died just two days to her traditional wedding.
It was gathered that Mirian passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, in Umuahia, Abia State.
Her traditional wedding was scheduled to hold on Sunday, October 5.
Mirian’s fiancé, Ugochukwu Princewill (Donish Gold), had shared their pre-wedding photos on October 2, expressing his excitement ahead of their big day.
“Sunday we party. 5th October. Thank you so much for choosing me, my baby girl… love is a beautiful thing,” he wrote.
According to reports, Mirian was on her way to the market when she suddenly began complaining of chest pain. She was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, where doctors battled to save her life.
It was alleged that she suffered internal bleeding and underwent surgery, but sadly, all efforts to save her proved unsuccessful.
Confirming the heartbreaking news, Ugochukwu’s friend Christian Ojike Agbaeze wrote on Saturday:
“A day made for celebration has turned to condolences. Blessing, this was not the plan. Uka, my man Donish Gold, take heart. You don’t deserve such cruelty from this world. The Nigerian medical system failed you. We were meant to pay your bride price on Friday, October 3, and celebrate properly on Sunday, October 5 — but you died on Friday, a day meant to be your happiest day. Saddest month ever. Why, God?”
Another friend also took to Facebook to mourn the late bride-to-be, recalling how joyful and full of life she was before her sudden passing.
“My sister, as we fondly call each other, you left everyone in shock and agony with your sudden death. You were healthy and excited about your traditional marriage that was supposed to hold tomorrow, October 5, until death snatched you away last night. I wish this were a prank, but reality keeps making me sad. Rest in peace, Mirian Sunday. May God comfort your family and loved ones.”
The wedding’s master of ceremonies (MC) also confirmed the tragic development, sharing a screenshot of their last conversation.
“Still in shock. She contacted me just a few months ago, full of excitement as we planned her big day. I was ready to stand as her MC to celebrate love, laughter, and new beginnings with her. But today, we lost her. From marriage plans to funeral tears in one night — it’s too heavy. Life truly is fragile. Mirian Sunday, may your gentle soul rest in peace, and may your family find strength in this dark moment.”
