The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested Samuel Amoah, popularly known as Biggie, over the gruesome murder of his girlfriend, Alberta Armah Hagan, and her two children at Tuba Net-Link Estates, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.

Amoah was arrested on September 17, 2025, after evading capture for over a year.

Addressing the media in Accra over the weekend, the Director-General of the CID, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, said the crime occurred on May 19, 2024, when police responded to a distress call about a violent attack at a residence.

On arrival, officers found the body of 39-year-old Alberta Hagan and two of her children in their bedroom, lying in a pool of blood. A third child was discovered alive but severely injured, with deep head wounds and bleeding from the ear, while a five-month-old baby was found unharmed on a sofa in the living room.

The injured child was rushed to the hospital for treatment, while the deceased were taken to the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

“Postmortem examinations confirmed that the victims died from severe head injuries caused by assault,” COP Donkor disclosed.

Investigations revealed that Amoah, who was in a romantic relationship with Ms. Hagan, was the prime suspect. According to police, their relationship had broken down over financial disputes, which eventually triggered the fatal attack.

“In a fit of rage, the suspect attacked Alberta and the two children who witnessed the incident,” COP Donkor revealed.

Amoah fled the scene and managed to evade arrest for more than a year. However, following months of intelligence-led operations, police tracked him down and arrested him on September 17, 2025, at Suhum in the Eastern Region.

During interrogation, Amoah confessed to the killings and expressed remorse. He is currently in custody, assisting with investigations, and will soon be charged with multiple counts of murder.

“The Ghana Police Service assures the public that this case is being handled with urgency and professionalism to ensure justice for the victims and their families,” COP Donkor added.

The late Alberta Hagan and her two children were buried on June 22, 2024.
