A young woman, Plangdes Nelson Rengkwar, has been abducted by suspected kidnappers from her residence in Dong, a community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Plangdes, a chef and baker, was taken from her home on the night of Monday, September 14, 2025, after armed men stormed the area. Unconfirmed reports suggest that her brother may have also been taken during the attack, though details remain unclear at the time of this report.
The incident has sparked fear and concern among residents and friends of the victim, many of whom have taken to social media to call for urgent government and security intervention.
One of her friends, Evah James Ayizeh, voiced frustration over the growing insecurity in the area, saying:
“The situation in this town is becoming unbearably frightening. Imagine a young lady didn’t even step outside, yet she was abducted right inside what should have been the safety of her own home. If we can’t even feel secure in our comfort zones, then where truly is safe?”
Another concerned acquaintance appealed directly to the Plateau State Governor:
“Caleb Mutfwang, we are pleading for your urgent intervention, especially in communities like Dong where these evil acts are becoming far too frequent. We cannot keep living in fear while innocent lives are threatened daily. These monsters must not be allowed to prevail.”
Prayers have also poured in for Plangdes’ safe return.
“May God shield you, protect you from their grip, and by His grace, you will return home safe,” another post read.
As of now, there has been no official statement from security agencies or the state government regarding the incident. Residents continue to urge authorities to act swiftly to secure her release and improve safety in vulnerable communities across Plateau State.
