A 55-year-old American woman has spoken out against a man she claims is her young Nigerian husband and his family, accusing them of orchestrating a romance scam.

In a video she released online to raise awareness about romance scams, the woman, who is a single mother living with a heart condition and diabetes, shared her painful story. She says she was targeted by the man and his family for the little money she had.

The woman identified her alleged husband as Kindness, a 26-year-old Nigerian man, showing a photo of him alongside his siblings—his sister Godness and brothers Ifeanyi and Ebuka. She claims Kindness married her under false pretenses with the sole intention of scamming her.

She further alleges that Kindness’ siblings were complicit in the scheme, living lavishly by spending her money on hotel stays and nights out at lounges.

“He married me under false pretenses and scammed me out of my money,” she said, adding that at least $80,000 was taken from her over the past three years.

The woman also criticized the family’s claims of strong Christian faith, revealing that Kindness’ father is a church deacon.

“How do you go to church and pray to God, then take money from me and marry me under false pretenses?” she asked.

Expressing her anger, she said she has cursed the family and vowed to make them pay for their actions. “Till my last breath, I’m going to make sure this Igbo man and his sister and family pay for what they did to me. You don’t take my money—eighty thousand dollars—and live lavishly while betraying me.”

She warned others to learn from her experience, adding, “He is looking for the next victim.”
