“University Professor Abducted by Gunmen in Plateau State”

In a disturbing incident that has shaken the academic community, Professor Musa Dankyau, a senior lecturer and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Bingham University, Abuja, was abducted from his home in Plateau State on the night of Monday, August 4, 2025.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the kidnapping took place around 9:30 p.m. in the SA Estate area along Guratopp Road in Jos South Local Government Area. Armed men reportedly stormed the residence and forcibly took the professor to an unknown location.

Authorities have since launched a coordinated search-and-rescue operation in a bid to secure Prof. Dankyau’s release and bring those responsible to justice.

Prof. Dankyau is a well-respected figure in the medical and academic fields. He earned his MBBS degree from the University of Jos in 1994 and has built a distinguished career in medical education and leadership.

As the investigation unfolds, the public and academic institutions alike are urging for swift action and the safe return of the professor.
