The Abia State Police have arrested the site engineer responsible for a three-storey building under construction that collapsed in Umuahia on Saturday, July 26.
The incident, which occurred near the low-cost housing estate area, left three people injured. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, confirmed the arrest while briefing journalists in Umuahia. He revealed that the injured individuals received prompt first aid treatment from a medical team led by the Commissioner for Health before being taken to a hospital for further care.
Kanu stated, “The site engineer has been arrested and is currently assisting the police with their investigation.”
