Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has revealed why she chooses to keep her marriage out of the public eye, describing it as one of the best decisions she has ever made.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Dear Ife series with Ifedayo Agoro, Kadiri explained that maintaining privacy in her relationship has allowed her to stay grounded and focused.
“It was the best decision I ever made because it has helped me stay grounded. It has helped me define my relationship. I don’t have external factors deciding how I deal or relate with my spouse,” she said.
The mother of two noted that her husband’s anonymity has shielded him from unnecessary public pressure.
“People do not know him, so there is no pressure on his end,” she added.
Kadiri clarified that her husband is not a secret, just a private individual who prefers to stay out of the limelight.
“My husband is not a secret. My life is not as private as people think. People who know me, know him. That’s enough. I’m not hiding my husband. We go to church together, attend events—his pictures are posted. Most events I organize, he’s there.”
She also mentioned that he keeps a low profile online.
“Check his social media—he only posts the word of God, not even his pictures. He’s just private.”
Addressing the unique challenges of being a public figure, Kadiri said she’s thankful to have a part of her life she can protect from public scrutiny.
“Marital pressure as a celebrity is something we don’t talk about enough. With my career thriving, I’m grateful there’s an aspect of my life I can control.”
