Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a two-year contract extension with Al-Nassr, committing to the Saudi Pro League club until at least 2027—well past his 42nd birthday.
The 40-year-old Portuguese captain’s new deal was officially announced by Al-Nassr on Thursday, putting an end to recent speculation about his future at the club.
“A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together,” Ronaldo wrote on his social media page following the announcement.
Al-Nassr’s sporting director, Fernando Hierro, had previously confirmed in May that the club was eager to retain Ronaldo, despite interest from several other teams. Based in Jeddah, Al-Nassr now looks set to continue building its squad around the legendary forward.
By signing the extension, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has dispelled any rumors about a potential move to what would have been the seventh club of his illustrious career.
Ronaldo initially joined Al-Nassr in late 2022 after parting ways with Manchester United. His original contract was reported to be worth €200 million per year, setting a global record. Financial details of the new agreement have not been disclosed.
