Fati Vázquez, a 30-year-old flight attendant and social media influencer, has responded publicly after reportedly receiving death threats amid rumors linking her romantically to 17-year-old Barcelona football star Lamine Yamal.
Speculation about a possible relationship began after both individuals shared photos from what appeared to be the same vacation destination. Social media users noted similarities in landscapes and settings, prompting widespread speculation. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo verified that the images posted by both parties were taken in the same location, further fueling the rumors.
The significant age gap between Vázquez and Yamal sparked backlash online, with some critics expressing outrage. As the controversy escalated, Vázquez took to Instagram to address the situation and denounce the threats she had received.
“It’s sad to see people who have so much darkness inside that they wish death upon someone they don’t even know,” she wrote. “What others project says more about them than about me. I choose to live with the purpose of continuing to grow and surrounding myself with light. To those who wish me harm, I wish healing, because no one who is at peace with themselves wishes destruction on another.”
Spanish journalist Javi de Hoyos also weighed in, claiming to have obtained evidence confirming that Yamal and Vázquez were at the same location over the weekend. “We’ve seen Lamine on her boat, we’ve seen them in the same helicopter… we have several proofs,” he stated.
However, De Hoyos later clarified Lamine Yamal’s position, stating that the young player denied any romantic involvement with Vázquez. “Lamine categorically denies being with her—he says they have nothing,” De Hoyos explained. “He reportedly went to the vacation spot with other Barcelona teammates. It’s more likely that Fati is connected to another Barca player or is simply friends with one of them.”
