Reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian has recounted a violent incident at a 2001 birthday party hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs, an anecdote resurfacing as the music mogul faces a federal sex trafficking trial.
In a resurfaced clip from the 2016 talk show Kocktails with Khloé, Kourtney described being assaulted while waiting in line for the bathroom at TAO nightclub, where Diddy had rented out the entire venue for his celebration.
“I got socked in the face ’cause I was waiting in line for the bathroom,” she recalled. “It was for his birthday. Diddy rented out the whole restaurant.”
According to Kourtney, the altercation began when a woman cut in front of her. After Kourtney politely informed the woman it wasn’t her turn, the woman unexpectedly punched her. “She literally just went boom—right in the face,” she said. “I didn’t know what to do. Nobody was with me. I was by myself.”
Following the incident, Kourtney hid in a bathroom stall and cried before rushing out to tell her sister, Khloé Kardashian, what had happened. Khloé later joked that she tried to track down the woman to retaliate on Kourtney’s behalf.
Diddy, who was present during the taping of the talk show, laughed at the memory and said he vaguely remembered someone getting hit at the party. Kourtney also noted the extravagance of the event, including Diddy sending out custom CDs as birthday invitations. Khloé added that Diddy had a reputation for throwing lavish and often wild parties. On a past episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she recalled one such event where “half the guests were naked” and a then-20-year-old Justin Bieber was among the attendees.
Amid renewed scrutiny of Diddy’s past, Justin Bieber recently issued a statement through a representative, denying any inappropriate behavior linked to the music mogul. “Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him. Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve,” the spokesperson said.
Sources close to Bieber added that he was disturbed by the allegations and regretted working on Diddy’s 2023 album The Love Album: Off the Grid. They also emphasized that Bieber was closer to Diddy’s sons than to Combs himself, and had distanced himself from the mogul during the time many of the alleged incidents reportedly took place.
Diddy is currently facing federal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, all of which he has denied. As the trial continues to unfold, past stories and resurfaced accounts are keeping the spotlight firmly on the embattled music executive.
