Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke has publicly applauded fellow actress Iyabo Ojo for demonstrating maturity and devotion by including her ex-husband in their daughter Priscilla’s wedding.
Speaking during an interview on Oyinmomo TV, Ronke praised Iyabo’s long-standing dedication to her children and how she handled the family dynamic at the recent wedding.
“I give kudos to Iyabo Ojo. When Priscilla and her brother were young, she was always going everywhere with them. She is a devoted mother. I now respect her more when I saw Priscilla’s dad at the wedding. I also learnt a lesson from her,” Ronke shared.
Her comments come amid social media backlash against gospel singer Tope Alabi, whose ex-husband was noticeably absent at herdaughter’s wedding. Many had dragged Tope for allegedly shutting him out, but Ronke offered a different perspective.
“Don’t let us blame Tope Alabi. The girl is 27 years old. Maybe she was the one that didn’t want to see her dad. If she really wanted him there, she would have insisted,” she said.
Ronke concluded by reminding the public that every family has its unique dynamics and should not be judged without full context.
“Let’s be more understanding. Not every situation is the same.”
