The family of Juju music legend Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade (KSA), has dismissed rumours circulating about his disappearance, assuring the public that he is “safe and sound.”
This comes after Damilola, one of the singer’s daughters, took to social media to raise an alarm over her father’s whereabouts. She accused her brother, Dayo—who also serves as their father’s manager—of allegedly holding him in an undisclosed location against his will.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family, Dayo firmly dismissed the rumour, calling it a “malicious” attempt to tarnish the legendary musician’s image.
“We want to assure the public that King Sunny Ade is safe and sound. There is absolutely no truth to the kidnapping rumour. We are taking appropriate steps to address the situation and to identify those responsible for spreading this false information.”
Adegeye also reassured fans and well-wishers, stating, “The King of World Beats, King Sunny Ade, has not been abducted or kidnapped by anyone.”
He further emphasized that the Adegeye family and King Sunny Ade’s team are working diligently to dispel the rumour and safeguard his reputation. “The public can rest assured that King Sunny Ade is in good health and high spirits. His focus remains steadfastly on his music and enduring legacy.”
