Nollywood star Yul Edochie recently took to Instagram to honor his elder brother, Leo Edochie, with an emotional birthday message that has touched the hearts of many fans.
Reflecting on their unbreakable bond, Yul shared heartfelt memories of how Leo played a crucial role during a pivotal moment in his life. He recalled that in 1998, while he was filling out his JAMB form, he struggled to decide which university to attend. His big brother, already based in Port Harcourt at the time, encouraged him to choose the University of Port Harcourt, promising to look after him. True to his word, Leo personally took Yul to Port Harcourt, helped him settle into his new environment, secured a hostel for him, and made sure he was fully comfortable before leaving.
Yul also shared a particularly moving memory from 1999, when the two brothers had to sleep in a car after being locked out of a friend’s house. Recalling Leo’s reassuring words, Yul wrote:
“Life is tough, it won’t always be easy, but you must be ready to adapt to any situation you find yourself in. Never panic. Take down your seat, we’ll sleep in the car. Don’t be afraid, I’m your elder brother, I’ll protect you. Nothing will happen to you. I’ll always be there for you.”
Since then, Leo has remained a steady pillar of strength and support in Yul’s life.
Closing his touching tribute, Yul expressed his deep gratitude and love, writing:
“I love you bro. Happy 55th birthday to you, big brother. May God give you more life, good health, joy, prosperity, peace, and all the good things of life. Thank you for all you do.”
He affectionately described Leo as “The Big Leo,” celebrating him as a good man, a strong man, and a true blessing to their family.
