Akeem Ayobami Moshood, a UK-based Nigerian man, has tragically passed away in his sleep.
Moshood, who lived in Rochdale with his wife and three children, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
A family friend, Hellen Kotila, described his passing as a shock to the family, who are now seeking support for his burial expenses through a GoFundMe campaign.
Kotila, who previously lived near the family in Cathays, Cardiff, expressed her sorrow over the news. In a heartfelt post, she wrote:
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. With deep sorrow, I share that Mr. Akeem Ayobami Moshood passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at his home in Rochdale, United Kingdom, leaving behind his wife and three young children.
I ask all who read this to please pray for him—that Allah forgives his sins, grants him a place in Jannah Al-Firdous, and surrounds him with His mercy. May Allah reunite us with our loved ones in Jannah.
We are raising funds for the Janazah costs. The family needs financial support to bury him as soon as possible. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.”*
Moshood’s sudden passing has deeply affected his community, with friends and well-wishers coming together to support his grieving family during this difficult time.
