The Member of the House of Representatives from Sokoto State, who represented the Isa-Sabon Birni federal constituency in the lower chamber, Mr. Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, has sadly passed away.
He was a first-time member of the House and had been elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to a report by DailyTrust, the lawmaker passed away at approximately 12:30 am on Wednesday, October 11, following a brief illness. He had fallen ill on Tuesday and was subsequently admitted to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The late lawmaker’s body has been transported to Sokoto for a burial ceremony in accordance with Islamic customs.
Hon. Akin Rotimi, the House’s spokesperson, confirmed the tragic incident and informed that an official statement regarding the matter will be issued in due course.
