The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, has confirmed that the cancer medical report being circulated by influencer Blessing “CEO” Okoro was doctored.

In a statement released on April 1, the association said the proprietor of Xinus Medical Diagnostics—the laboratory where Blessing claimed she received her test result—clarified that the report actually belongs to another patient.

NMA Statement:

Our attention has been drawn to an online histology report purportedly issued to Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, by Xinus Medical Diagnostics, allegedly located in Enugu State. The report was claimed to have been signed by Dr. O. A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist.

The proprietor of Xinus Medical Diagnostics, Dr. O. A. Odigwe, who is also a member of the Nigeria Medical Association, Delta State chapter, has provided the following clarification:

  1. Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Asaba, Delta State, and at no time issued any report to Blessing Okoro.
  2. In May 2025, Xinus Medical Diagnostics was contacted by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to conduct a confirmatory test on a patient, Mara Deborah, for a possible case of breast cancer.
  3. The test was carried out, and the result was issued to the referring doctor on May 9, 2025.
  4. A copy of this result is the one being circulated online by the law firm Allen Juris Law, with Mara Deborah’s name as the patient.
  5. The version shared online by the law firm is the original report issued to the patient through her hospital.

The NMA emphasized that this clarification is necessary due to the potential misuse of the altered report being circulated by Blessing Okoro. The public is advised to be guided accordingly.

“The integrity of our association and its members is paramount and should not be taken for granted. We call on the authorities responsible for maintaining law and order to intervene and protect the public from being unduly taken advantage of,” the statement read.

Blessing Okoro went online in March claiming she had stage four cancer and has reportedly raised over N12 million from Nigerians who donated for her treatment.
